My name is Derek Larsen and I’m a graphic and web designer living in a quaint little apartment in foggy San Francisco. I am currently an Interactive Designer at CBS Interactive revamping their web, mobile, and tablet designs. Besides my freelance experience with Larsen Productions, I was a Lead Visual Designer at SendMe Inc. and a Designer at Informatica Corporation. I received my formal design training at San José State University and have over five years of experience in graphic and web design.
If you’re in the city you may find me on BART surfing around the downtown area or exploring some great hiking trails. On weekends I’m usually listening to motown classics, snapping photos in instagram, sitting around my apartment drinking some green tea, or finding inspiration for my designs. Want to say hello? Leave me a message on my contact page! Want to stalk me? Following me on dribbble or Twitter is your closest bet.
Research
Every project I embark on starts with research. I define the client’s needs and objectives and assess what design solutions may suit them best.
Development
Once the objective is clear, a series of visual solutions are created. Exploration, refinement and clients approval occur in this stage.
Finalization
Once all ideas are refined and visual solutions are produced, the result is a creation that mirrors the objectives of the client as well as Larsen Productions.
